Wadi Wurayah National Park is now open for visitors. Authorities have introduced access to the park through managed visits. The park is the country’s ecologically significant protected area. This park has the only located natural waterfall that you can see all year round in the UAE.
Wadi Wurayah Park is situated in between the Hajar Mountains which is situated in Fujairah and is around a two hour drive from Dubai. The park is known for its permanent fresh water, cascading waterfall and exceptional biodiversity. The park has very rich biodiversity and spreads through about 220 kilometers. It has more than 1000 species as, per the records. The species include the endangered tahr and the caracal it also includes some rare plants that are found nowhere else in UAE. It was recently inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, becoming the country’s first natural site to receive the honour.
Visitors can now explore designated areas of the reserve under controlled access aimed at protecting its fragile ecosystem. Authorities have introduced guided visits and regulated entry to balance tourism with conservation, allowing people to experience the park while safeguarding its wildlife and natural habitats.
